Newsom/Mullins Sneak Peak..(aka) All of the Little Details

I'm working on Mary Beth & Brad's wedding and have just finally started to get to a point to where I know which images will more than likely end up in the final album. This is a very exciting time for me!

Anyways, as I'm really getting into the editing process now I find little things along the way that make me happy. The little details that this couple spent so much time planning for. I'll post a few on this sneak peak and then of course they'll get their official detailed wedding blog a little later. I hope you guys are having fun on the honeymoon. I know you'll be anxious to see some of your pictures very soon.

Mary Beth's shoes were great right side up, but there was a secret she was hiding on the bottom of them .

Her "something blue" was on the bottom of her heels. I thought this was such a sweet touch!

Can you see me in the rings? I can. lol

I kept rearranging the rings, trying to get a unique shot of them. Then saw this beautiful table in the center of the entry way. I admit that there was a giant bunch of flowers sitting over top of the star burst pattern in the center of the table, so I made Jeremy hold it while I got this shot. He may be in it too if you look close enough!

Here's a shot of the bride's dress. I loved the details on it!

And one of the bride's bouquet!

I think this picture screams happiness!

And last but not least, a teaser of the bride and groom during the ceremony! There will be lots more to come in the following days!

Sarah & Drew's Engagement Session

Ready to see some of my favorite images from Sarah & Drew's session? OK, here goes!

Two Saturdays ago I did an engagement session with Sarah & Drew. They'll be getting married next Summer. They live in Richmond and the forecast was giving rain the entire week before their shoot. I just knew we would get rained out. Over the phone Sarah remained completely optimistic that we would be able to shoot and the rain would cease. She was right! We were left with a slightly damp, chili, foggy day but we came out with some great images despite the blustery weather.

We had intentions of getting the really beautiful fall mountains in the background. These were taken at the top of Bob Amos Park in Pikeville. The fog blocked the mountains more than I would have liked, but I still really love some of the pictures that we captured here. The grass was super wet, so I had them sit on my reflector board. That thing comes in so handy!

I love all of the color in this one!

This one is definitely on my top 3!

I think they both look so cute here!

I'm a big fan of holding hands and walking pictures :)

Genuine laughter & happiness....LOVE this one
Hello pretty bridge in Pikeville!
I really liked this one. I must give pose credit to Sarah. It was her idea!

Sarah & Drew I really hope you enjoy your images. I really enjoyed working with the two of you!

Sarah & Drew Engagement Sneak Peak

Meet Sarah & Drew! I had a wonderful session with them yesterday at Bob Amos Park in Pikeville. It was chilli, and more overcast at 1 pm than I believe I've ever worked with. No hot spots! Anyways, here is a sneak peak from yesterday. More images to follow. Stay tuned...

Lil' Miss Kendall

I love this little girl! Jeremy and I have been friends with her family for about 6 years now and I think she's just adorable. She was also born on the same day as my Dad, which makes her a little more special to me!

This is a different type shoot than the traditional pose and smile session that we're all so used to seeing. Kendall was pretty free to be Kendall here and I think that she made this a super special documentation on the world through an 18 month old child's eyes.

Thoughts about Kendall's Session:

She's got the sweetest big blue eyes.

Lynee and I thought a grassy field would be ideal to shoot some of Kendall's pictures. We didn't make it that far. She found bugs, rocks and mud and had much more fun! (At one point, she had Jeremy trying to draw a bug with a peice of chalk on a rock. Why didn't I take a picture of that?)

This is one of my favorite pictures from the day. She has a look like. "I'm really gonna do this. How much trouble am I going to be in?"

Kendall REALLY loved the rocks.

There is a point, where you embrace the moment, and have fun with it. So much for nice dry grass. Let's all get dirty! (I think she wonders why her parents hadn't ever brought her to this "playground" before.) lol

Moving right along, I take her to my new favorite place...the loading dock.

Midway through the shoot we decided to switch course and let Kendall play around in her Halloween costume. Doesn't she look sweet and adorable!

Look out Williamson! Kendall the dinosaur is on the loose!
She loved this big open grassy field so much!
Ah...a quiet moment...THEN a passing train. By the way, she has lovely eyelashes!
Top 5 favorite of the day! She made a great game out of looking away from the camera and saying "Cheese". This look, however, was captured when she looked up at her Daddy.
And like any other child...when your finished entertaining the lady with the camera, you walk away!

Thanks so much to Lynee & Carl. She's so precious.
Please remember that if Kendall get's 25 comments from different people about this blog, she gets a free 5x7 with her package!

Amy & Brian Engagement Session

Meet Amy & Brian! I met this adorable couple about a year or so ago at Brian's brother's wedding where I was the photographer. When Amy contacted me and asked if I remembered her, I was like "OF COURSE I DO!" I remember cute couples! I especially remembered Amy's sunshine blonde hair, her great smile, and how sweetly the two enteracted with each other.

I'm really excited to get this blog up today! During this session we used several locations to shoot I'm thrilled we did because there was so much variety. This adorable couple will be getting married next year and wanted engagement portraits done sooner than later. Amy had some great ideas for her session.

*For those of you thinking about upcoming shoots, incorporating your own ideas in a shoot is an excellent way to personalize your portrait session.

Here is my absolute FAVORITE picture from the shoot. Who knew I could ever have so much fun with an old loading dock?

I also heart this one...I think its because they look so HAPPY!

Again, happiness is contagious. I love it!

I had these two posing and not posing all over the place. I'd say they were happy to finally get to sit down for a second.

I love the way Amy's eyes stand out in this one. You guys are so cute!

This one looks like LOVE to me.
After the first half of our session we left Williamson and went to Amy's Dad's house to get some more personal shots. Silver, was pretty cooperative for a horse!

This is the place that Brian proposed to Amy! Isn't it sweet.

I snapped this one at the very end of the shoot just before we lost the light for the day.
Amy, your full session will be loaded onto my online proofing site very soon. I had a blast working with you guys and I'm more excited than ever for your wedding.

Please remember, I'm a comment lovin' fool. If Amy & Brian get 25 comments from different people about this blog, they get a free 5x7 with their package.

Pretty Kendall

Here are some quick sneak peaks from Kendall's session today. I have had the pleasure of following her parents since the beginning of their relationship and as their family expanded to welcome this sweet little girl. Kendall has grown so much in the seemingly short amount of time since I shot her newborn session last Spring. Time flies!

I hope you enjoy this sneak peak as you wait for the final proofs. Carl & Lynee, thanks for once again allowing me to follow your family through these last 4 years. It is an honor.

She loves rocks. I even got one of her throwing them at me mid-air today! Kid has a good arm.

Kendall is going to be a dinosaur for Halloween. She said "ROAR" when she put on her costume and it was just one of the cutest things.
