Remember Jessica?

Jessica's my next door neighbor. I've done a few shoots with her in the past for her CD's, but this one is a little more exciting. This one had a make-up artist/ hair stylist and the coolest concept Jessica has come up with yet!

Fun Facts about Jessica:
  1. She'll be recording September 8 - 12 in Nashville!
  2. She's participating in Cruise with a Cause May 30-June,4 2011.
  3. Later this year she will be singing at Jesus Fest, UniFest, Pneumafest and Holy Fest as well as a number of other locations and events!

Some of you may be asking...didn't you do these a while back? Yes I did! We've been waiting on Jessica's management team to help her choose the portraits for her CD cover before we did the blog. Are the pictures in this blog gonna be on the CD cover? Nope..those are still a surprise! I do have a go ahead to blog on the shoot now and I'm excited!

So here we go!
The plan was to do a few outdoor shots and then head to location #2 for some wardrobe changes and a new setting. When we got to our spot it started raining and we didn't get to do a whole lot of time there. Jessica braved through a few shots and then it REALLY started to rain..so we headed back to our vehicles. Here's one of the few outdoors shots we got.

Sometimes crazy things happen when you least expect it. As we were walking back to the car, a train went by. I happened to catch it in the background of a cute spontaneous twist and shoot behind you shot. What I didn't realize is that the man inside the train was holding a sign that said, "LETS PARTY!" Great thing to show up in a photograph! It was good for a laugh though!

Hello beautiful windblown hair! This was seriously one of my absolute favorite shoots ever. I got to use lights, cameras, fans, special effects and hair and makeup was touched up on the spot. I felt like I was shooting for ANTM!

This is one of my personal favorites!

Jessica asked me to do "something CRAZY" to some of the pictures...this is one I came up with...

This is another favorite.

I love this one too. The people doing laundry in the laundromat probably thought we were insane. Oh well.Okay, for this one I'm sure they thought we were insane. At one point I believe the hair stylist and me were also in the buggy working on posing..lol (Not at the same time though!)

I'll post a follow up message when Jessica's Album is released and a link!

Amy & Brian's Wedding

Here we are...I'm actually writing Amy & Brian's wedding blog. I met them two years ago at Brian's brother's wedding, did engagement pictures for them last year and had their wedding typed in on my calendar for over a year. WOW...I can't believe the day has already come and gone.

I love working with these two and I'm so happy for them to officially be starting their new life together. It's so much fun to work with families over and over again. You really get to start to know people, and their extended families.

Up front I know that I've put a ton of pictures on this specific blog...Oh well can't help it...too many favorites to count!

They're a little out of order, but I did that so Amy hopefully wouldn't hate me forever for putting the sappy stuff up first thing. More about that in a minute though!

This is Amy and her Dad...when he came to see her before the wedding. AHH! I love this moment so much. (I got to meet Amy's dad when we went to his house for half of the engagement session..he's so nice!)

Here's one of Brian and his dad in the groom's holding room getting ready. I think they look happy! I've loved working with his family both times!

Here's one of Amy's dress before she slipped it on....after I saw this angle there was no other angle to shoot it at that would please me as much..lol

And now for part of my explanation from above. For most weddings I start out at the beauty shop with the bride and her maids while they're getting their hair done. I like to follow brides around and get the whole story of the day. Plus I usually get pictures for the groom of some of the fun teased up (pre- hairdo) of the bride.

This image is something that I've seen several times, with different brides. For some reason a good 80% of girls have this look when they get those tiaras put on. It's not an easy task and it HURTS! I loved this one and its storytelling worth, but Jeremy keeps telling me, "Don't put that one on your blog!!!" I can't help it...I love it too much. Please forgive me Amy..at least you're totally cute!..(and at least I didn't put it first?)
Brian & Amy decided to exchange gifts before the ceremony. Future brides, take note..this is a beautiful idea! I think all couples should do it!

Is that a purple envelope Brian? It looks like that card may have been funny!

Again, I have a story. As part of Brian's gift to Amy he gave her a Bible with "Amy Martin" engraved on the outside. The room was so full of emotion when she opened it! P.S. Brian, that was an excellent idea.

(So again, I have to apologize to Amy for putting a cry picture up, but I want you to know that I can not, CAN NOT look at this picture without crying myself. EVERY TIME. It touches on my emotions somehow, touches a part of my soul. I sit here and cry as I type about it. It was just a purely beautiful moment and I won't forget it any time soon. Moments like this are why I love my job, because they mean something and I get a front row seat at some of the best times of peoples lives. {So don't be mad at me, K? :) }

Beautiful available light....a beautiful bride...need I say more?
and one of my favorites...the dip picture! Had to show this one..(note..the sky is showing up a little more blue than in the actual picture...has something to do with file compression for posting online..just in case anyone is wondering.Hello beautiful 1950's movie scene! This is my F A V O R I T E image from the entire day. We'll call it a happy accident, because I clicked my shutter cord a little fast and missed their actual posed kiss on this one...but it turned out a still from a love story so YAY!

A fun one of the girls! (Note Meghan is on the far right...she was the bride that introduced me to Amy, and now they're sisters-in-law)

These guys could not have been any cuter when they were having their pictures done. I love it when I get to take the guys outside because all they really want to do is have fun..and these guys did a great job of it. (Ben, (groomsman on far right) started playing air guitar and everyone joined in!) So much fun! (BTW, I think I finally got all of your names down! I'm proud.. lol)

Seriously! I could have kept them outside for hours...but it was almost 100 degrees and they were in black tuxes after all....

See what I mean?

And again?

Just think this one is too cute.

To me, this looks like a picture of a princess from a fairy tale. Like Snow White bent down to admire a flower. LOVE IT!
Had to show off Amy's dress here...POCKETS!

I want to entitle this "Love at Sunset" lol
Yes I can be cheesy at times...its just me...

BUBBLES! (I bet they felt good considering it was so hot outside!)

Alright Mr. & Mrs. Martin, I love ya bunches! I've enjoyed working on your album and with you more than you'll ever know. Please keep in touch and Remember 25 blog comments = 1 free 5x7!
