Vikki Burke, Class of 2010

For a few weeks I've been promising to show everyone some pictures of my latest Senior Session with Vikki Burke, an SVHS Senior! I figured I'd better get her blog up before my next senior session tomorrow. I've been very excited working on these.

It's sometimes hard to get the beauty of nature at just the right angle for a photo. For this one I stood on top of a huge rock slab next to city hall in Pikeville and got quite a few strange looks from people passing by. It turned out how I wanted it though :) I love the little dots of color all around her!

Meet Ollie, Vikki's poodle! He was such a good sport throughout the day and really posed for me most every time I asked him to!

To me, this picture screams American Girl. I love the red, white and blue colors!

Towards the end of the shoot we took a little trip down to the pond where Vikki enjoys fishing on occasion.

I have an obsession with brightly painted doors. I love using them as backdrops!

And last but not least, probably my favorite picture of Miss Vikki from the day. Isn't she lovely!

* Lets have some fun!
If Vikki gets 25 comments from different people about the pictures on this blog, she will recieve a free 5x7 with her package!

Outdoor Maternity Session with Ashley!

Yesterday morning I met Ashley at 8 a.m. for her outdoor maternity session. We agreed that we wanted to take them as early as possible to take advantage of some of the beautiful glowing morning light! Our goal for the day was to take some not-so-standard baby bump pictures. (The standard ones will be taken in another week!) I think we achieved our goal and here is a quick edit of some that stood out to me. Her entire collection will be finished in a few weeks. I'm so excited to meet her little guy!

I love balloons! This shot was part of a series we did to reveal the sex of the baby! Ashley eventually released all of the pink balloons and was left with only the blue ones! (It's a boy!)
(Notice the morning fog in the background..I LOVE IT!)

I love this shot of the mom-to-be! Might I add that gnats love latex balloons and followed us EVERYWHERE on top of this mountain. Lesson learned, bring bug repellent next time! (If you are a regular follower of my blog, you may notice I always complain just a little about the bugs. They scare me!)

Isn't this angelic!

Doesn't she look like an angel in this one! I think this one is surreal. I just love it! Also, I don't think we could have found a better outfit for her to wear to show off her belly! The blue and white flowing skirt was perfect for maternity shots!

I love this belly shot! Like I said, I love morning light! Did I mention that I had SO much fun doing this?

And this one is my favorite up close belly shot from the day! I tweaked it a bit to give it a vintage feel!

Ashley is a dancer. Isn't she gorgeous here!

Look for more photos from this collection, an upcoming traditional maternity session, and the arrival of the baby in weeks to come! It's all really exciting and I'm blessed with the good fortune to share these wonderful moments with wonderful people!

Senior Session and Homecoming Weekend!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I'm busy working all weekend and thought I'd do a quick post to update everyone on what we've been doing. This weekend we're running back and forth between Pikeville & Delbarton.

This morning I did a senior session with Vikki Burke and we had lots of fun. She brought her very cute pup, Ollie with her for some of the shots and I'm very excited to get started working on them all within the next few days.
Here is one of my quick favorites of Vikki! Look at those beautiful eyes!

Every year the town of Delbarton hosts their Homecoming events during Labor Day weekend and we've had a blast working down there! I was asked to be one of the photographers that captures the memories of this years Homecoming and it's been so much fun. Last night we photographed the towns talent contest and as it started getting dark the Van Dells took the stage. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their concert. Saturday (today) The Great Lakes Timber Show had 4 showings. The long rolling event was hillarious and I loved watching the kids get soaking wet! lol (I got a little too close to the fun and got soaked myself!) The kids seemed to have a great time at the inflatables and the kid run. I think they enjoyed getting their trophies. The car show was awesome. There has also been a pet show, a beauty pageant, a quilt show, etc to already take place! Later today there will be a parade and I'm excited about the fireworks show tongiht as well! Sunday also has some fun in store! Overall, it's a great weekend for this area and the energy that radiates from it for these three days is encouraging for such a small town.

Here is a photo from a segment of The Great Lakes Timber Show!

Look for more pictures from both events to come very soon!
